Thanks, Melanie! I hadn't thought of "excited..." as a cliche but you are right. I think people really *are* excited (and forget that frankly, nobody cares!)

I've been guilty of those myself! Sometimes a blueprint is .. well, I guess I could call it a plan of action.
When paired with "6 figures," it's a real cliche!
Thanks so much for the comment.

I'd like to add "blueprint" and "roadmap" -- especialky when paired with "6 figures."

As a marketer who pays attention, it irks me to no end that these words keep circulating. The Echo Chamber is alive and well!

At this point, Cathy, the words "I'm so excited" [to launch my new program; to tell you about my new fab service; to introduce my guest on today's teleseminar; to share my latest blog post; to announce my birthday surprise offer, etc., etc., etc.) have become far from exciting to me. I see them and hear them everywhere! (Especially in promo videos). To me, they're the three ickiest words in the marketing language. :(

You know what I want to say when someone says "I'm so excited"? I want to yell back, "No shit!! I thought maybe you were complacent about your ------ "

"Next level" is like fingernails down the chalkboard for me and, honestly, I've had my fill of all the woo-woo phrases in marketing. It's not that "heart-centered" or "soul-centered" are bad phrases -- it's just that they're overused to the degree of being almost nauseating. I've heard them so much, they no longer feel genuine.

Really cool guest post from Ian Brodie! :)
