When yo,u tell a story, you need to have at least two characters: the hero and the guide.
The hero is your client or customer. If you are a solopreneur, the hero comes to you with a very specific kind of problem.
If you are the guide, you have special expertise and skill in solving the problem. And you have the credibility to solve the problem.
This week’s podcast identifies a third cast member: the villain.
This is a very clever concept from Dr. Michelle Mazur, whose motto is, “Make marketing suck less.”
You can give a name to your villain — or your client’s villain.
By giving a name to your villain, you stop the usual hassle of “agitate the problem.” You make the problem manageable, even funny.
Come listen as we talk about the villain in the story! You will learn how to identify a villain. You’ll also learn why the villain can’t come from within: it’s always something external.
And you’ll learn how identifying a villain can make you a better marketer and storyteller.
